ESPP Conference 2026


We are pleased to announce that the 33rd Annual Meeting of the European Society for Philosophy and Psychology (ESPP) will be held from 30 June to 3 July, 2026, in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

About the conference

The ESPP annual conference is one of the premier international venues for interdisciplinary discussion between philosophers, psychologists, linguists, and cognitive scientists. Since its establishment in 1991, the ESPP has fostered dialogue across disciplines, bringing together researchers interested in the intersection of philosophical, linguistic, and psychological approaches to topics such as social cognition, consciousness, rationality, perception, attention, and decision-making.

Keynote speakers:

Mazviita Chirimuuta (University of Edinburgh) on the biological basis of cognition, followed by a related symposium
Isabelle Dautriche (CNRS, Aix-Marseille Université) on conceptual operations before and outside language, followed by a related symposium led by Jean-Remy Hochmann (CNRS, UCBL Lyon 1)
Ira Noveck (CNRS, Université de Paris) on figurative language, followed by a related symposium led by Diana Mazzarella (Université de Neuchâtel)
Tadeusz Zawidzki (George Washington University) on mindshaping, followed by a related symposium led by Ian Apperly (University of Birmingham)

Venue

The conference will take place at Booth Street Church (Boothstraat 7, 3512 BT, Utrecht), a historic church building located in the heart of Utrecht.
